The Music Therapy Center of California (MTCCA) is the leader in the greater San Diego area providing neurologic music therapy and music lessons for youth with special needs.   Our mission is to promote, empower and serve families, professionals and children with special needs utilizing music therapy strategies.  

We offer a variety of services including music therapy sessions, school-based programs, adapted lessons, home-based consultation, and group sessions. In addition, experiential and educational services such as workshops, in-services, and presentations are also available.  We also provide many free music therapy groups through our non-profit community partners. Through The Autism Tree Project Foundation we provide free early childhood music playgroups and low-cost music trainings for parents, teachers and therapists.   We have also partnerned with Banding Together to provide free community jam sessions for youth and adults with autism and other special needs.   

We believe in the saying “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” The client's life is not independent but interdependent upon others. We assess and capitalize on clients' strengths to motivate them to reach their highest potential. For this reason we consult with other team members, including parents and staff, empowering them to use techniques from our sessions in outside settings to aid in generalizing skills into other areas of life.
