Ashley Liu has always had a deep fascination with how our brains function and the true power of music. Her dedication to increasing the accessibility of music influenced her decision to pursue dual degrees in Music Therapy and Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music with minors in Psychology and Musical Theatre Writing. Being born in Vancouver Canada, raised in Beijing China, and having lived in four different countries, Ashley knows a thing or two about adapting to change. She’s learned how to grow in unfamiliar spaces and existing as an expat. Her love for music began through piano lessons at a young age and writing songs as a form of self expression.
Outside of music therapy, Ashley spends her time composing, film scoring, and songwriting. Having grown up surrounded by nature, Ashley is excited to be living in San Diego, a city filled with beaches and mountains.
