Education & Experience

Marisa DiCamillo hails from Orange County, California. She grew up in a musical family and is a second generation music therapist! Marisa has participated in several musical activities throughout her life, playing multiple instruments and performing in many musicals in her childhood and adolescence. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Voice Performance from California State University, Long Beach in 2017. She was a member of the DownBeat award-winning vocal jazz ensemble Pacific Standard Time. Marisa also performed and traveled with the Bob Cole Chamber Singers and had the honor of participating in and winning two major international choral music competitions with this group including Choir of the World. Outside of music, Marisa enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.

Marisa earned her master’s equivalency in Music Therapy from University of Miami. While in Miami, she had clinical experiences focusing on early childhood development, hospice, and adult neurorehabilitation. Her thesis explored young adult decision making and how music composition experiences may influence it, and was presented as a poster at the 2020 American Music Therapy Association National Conference. Marisa completed her clinical internship at Harmonic Changes Therapy Services in Los Angeles, serving clients throughout the lifespan.
