Meet Leah

Leah Kazuko Padilla

Leah was born and raised in the Boston area, and for as long as she can remember, music has been a fundamental part of her life. Her parents are both musicians, so she grew up listening to her parents practicing new repertoire or songs they would create, and of course she had plenty of instruments around her to explore. The instrument that Leah would find to be hers: her voice. She went on to sing anywhere she could, which included several choirs, musical theater groups, operas, and a capella groups.

Leah was torn between studying music and studying psychology to become a therapist, but ultimately she decided to follow her heart and pursue music. Half way through her studies, Leah found out about music therapy from a friend and after taking an intro course, she knew this was what she was supposed to do. She quickly changed majors and became more passionate about music therapy with each class. Leah has now completed her coursework at Berklee College of Music and is currently in the final phase of earning her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy as an intern at the Music Therapy Center of California.

In her free time, Leah enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, running, rollerblading, and exploring new places with her husband. She equally enjoys being lazy, snuggled up on the couch with her dog and cat while watching TV. She also tries to squeeze in some time to work on her own music.

“I hope to use my musical talents and passion for the therapeutic power of music to help clients heal, connect, and achieve goals through music therapy.”
